Small tools for people who build with AI
Relay is a tiny independent site with two free tools. One fixes the moment your coding agent loses the thread. The other answers "did anything I use change?" without reading 17 changelogs.
Restart packet: how it works
Everything happens in your browser. The page reads your transcript, figures out who is speaking, and runs a set of rules over each sentence: decisions ("let's go with…", "switched to…"), constraints ("never…", "must…", "only…"), unfinished work ("TODO", unchecked boxes, "still need to…"), open questions, errors (with a check for whether they were fixed later), file paths, commands and your last unanswered request. Nothing is sent anywhere, and saved projects stay in your browser's local storage.
Rules are not a language model. They can miss things or grab the wrong sentence, so you review and edit every section before exporting. If you want a model to improve it, "Polish with your own AI" builds a strict prompt (draft packet + transcript + "never invent anything" rules) to paste into the assistant you already use.
For developers: extraction is pluggable. The engine exposes a provider interface, and site.config.json → extraction.endpoint can point at a serverless function that calls an LLM. That needs your own API key and a function such as serverless/extract.example.mjs; it is off on this site.
AI tool changes: where the data comes from
A refresh script reads each vendor's official changelog, release notes page, RSS feed or docs changelog, keeps the last 90 days, and stores the vendor's own title, date, a short excerpt and the link. Nothing is written by hand or generated. If a source fails, its last good entries are kept and marked stale.

Tags are keyword rules: words like "deprecated", "removed", "pricing", "billing" or "retired" mean breaking / pricing; "fixed", "bug", "crash" mean fix; everything else is a new feature. Where the vendor labels its own entries (for example the OpenAI API changelog), that label wins. Hover a tag on the site to see the reason.
Privacy
No accounts and no cookies. In the default on-device mode your transcript never leaves the browser; your tool picks and saved projects live in localStorage. No analytics are loaded. The full details are on the Privacy page.
Attribution and trademarks
Every change entry is a short excerpt of the vendor's own public release notes and links to the official source, which is always the authority. Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Relay is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any company listed; tools are shown with plain initials instead of their logos.
Money
Relay is free. It has no ads, sponsors or affiliate links today. If that changes they will always be labeled, and they never affect what appears in the digest. See the disclosure page.
Contact
Corrections, a missing tool, or a broken source: hello@example.com (placeholder address). More on the contact page.
