My coding agent forgot what we were doing.
Paste your old session notes or transcript. Relay pulls out the goal, decisions, constraints, unfinished work, errors and the exact next step, lets you fix anything, then gives you Markdown and a kickoff prompt for the new session.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your transcript is never uploaded. Privacy

Stored in this browser (localStorage). Nothing leaves your device.- No saved projects yet. Build a packet and press "Save project".
What it looks for
Project goal
What you are building and for whom
Decisions
Choices not to re-litigate, with superseded ones dropped
Constraints
"Never / always / only" rules you gave
Unfinished work
TODOs, unchecked boxes, "still need to"
Errors
Exact error text, unresolved first
Files & commands
Paths and run/test commands, verbatim
Open questions
Unanswered or deferred questions
Exact next step
Your last unanswered request, or the agent's pending step
Extraction is rule-based: speaker detection, phrase patterns ("let's go with", "never", "TODO", "still need to"), file-path and command recognition, and error tracking that notices when an error was later fixed. It is fast and private, but it can miss things or pick the wrong sentence. That is why step 2 exists. For a model-quality pass, use "Polish with your AI", which builds a strict prompt with the draft packet plus your transcript.
Better than a reusable "summarize this" prompt
No hallucinated paths
An LLM summary can "tidy up" lib/supabase/server.ts into a file that never existed. Here, every path, command and error is a literal copy.
Works when the chat is full
The old session is often too long to paste back into an AI. This runs locally on any length and compresses it into a small packet.
Target-ready kickoff
Kickoff prompts for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or chat assistants tell the new session what to read first, what not to redo, and to confirm a plan before coding.
Restart packet questions
Does the restart packet tool upload my transcript?
No. Extraction runs as JavaScript in your browser tab, so the transcript never leaves your device. Saved projects are kept in your browser's localStorage. See the Privacy page.
Which coding agents and chat tools does it work with?
Any text transcript or notes. It recognizes common speaker labels such as "User:" / "Assistant:", "You said:" / "ChatGPT said:" and "> " prompts, and builds kickoff prompts for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or a generic chat assistant.
Is it an AI model?
No. The default extraction is a set of rules (phrase patterns, file-path and command recognition, error tracking), so it never invents anything but can miss things. You review and edit every section, and "Polish with your AI" builds a strict prompt you can paste into the assistant you already use.
What is in a restart packet?
Project goal, stack, decisions, constraints, done and unfinished work, errors (copied verbatim), key files, commands, open questions and one exact next step, exported as Markdown plus a kickoff prompt.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no account.
