Privacy, in plain words
Relay is built so that the sensitive part, your coding transcripts, never has to leave your computer.

Short version
- The restart packet tool runs entirely in your browser. In the default on-device rules mode, pasted transcripts never leave your device: there is no upload, no server call and nothing for us to store.
- There are no accounts and Relay sets no cookies.
- Your tool picks and any projects you save are kept in your browser's
localStorage. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them. - No analytics or tracking scripts are loaded.
- The weekly email is not live yet, so no email addresses are collected.
The restart packet tool
When you paste a transcript and press "Build restart packet", JavaScript on the page reads the text and runs a set of rules over it. The work happens in your browser tab. In on-device mode the transcript is never sent over the network, never logged and never seen by us. If you tick "Also save the transcript", it is stored only in your browser's localStorage, next to the packet.
"Polish with your own AI" only builds a prompt for you to copy. Relay does not send it anywhere; if you paste it into an AI assistant, that assistant's own privacy policy applies.
Optional AI extraction (currently off)
The restart tool can be configured with an optional AI extraction mode that uses a language model. It is not enabled on this site, so nothing you paste is ever sent anywhere. If it is enabled in the future: it will be a separate, clearly labeled option that you have to pick for each run; on-device rules will stay the default; and this page will be updated first to name the AI provider, say exactly what is sent (your transcript and the draft packet) and say how long it is kept.
The AI tool change digest
The change data is collected by a script from each vendor's public changelog and is shipped with the page as a static file. Filtering by the tools you pick happens in your browser; your picks are saved in localStorage and are never sent to us.
Weekly email
Sign-up is not live yet. The form on the site only checks the address format in your browser; nothing is sent or stored. When the email launches, this section will name the email provider.
Analytics
None. No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts are loaded on this site.
Server logs
Like any website, the pages are delivered by our hosting provider, which may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, user agent and the page requested) for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify you.
Links, affiliates and sponsors
Pages link to vendors' official changelogs and, where marked, to affiliate links if we add any. When you follow a link you are on another site, under its own privacy policy and cookies. Relay does not share any data with sponsors or affiliate partners. See the disclosure page.
Children
Relay is a tool for developers and is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices and requests
Everything Relay keeps about you lives in your own browser, so you control it: clear this site's data to remove it. For anything else, including a copy or deletion of a newsletter subscription, email hello@example.com. Justin Smith is responsible for this site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. Material changes, such as turning on AI extraction or analytics, are reflected on this page before they go live.
