Terms of use
The short, readable rules for using Relay.
Effective Oct 28, 2026.
The service
Relay (the "site") is operated by Justin Smith. It offers two free tools: a coding agent restart packet builder and a digest of recent changes to AI tools. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Free, as is
The tools are provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Restart packets are produced by automatic rules and can miss or misread things. Change entries and their tags (New, Breaking, Pricing, Fix) are collected and assigned automatically and can be late, incomplete or wrong. Always check the vendor's official source before acting on a change, and review a restart packet before you rely on it.
Your content
Anything you paste into the restart tool stays yours. In on-device mode it never leaves your browser, so we have no access to it. You are responsible for what you paste and for how you use the packets and prompts you export.
Acceptable use
Do not attack, overload or scrape the site in ways that degrade it for others, and do not use it to break the law. The data files (/data/changes.json, the feed and llms.txt) are published so people and tools can use them; please link back to Relay and to the official vendor sources.
Third-party content and trademarks
Change summaries are short excerpts of each vendor's own public release notes, with a link to the official page. All product names, logos and brands (including Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude (apps) and the other tools listed) are property of their respective owners. Relay is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Tools are shown with plain initials rather than their logos.
Links, affiliates and sponsors
The site links to other websites we do not control. Some links may be affiliate links or sponsored placements; they are always labeled, as explained on the disclosure page.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Justin Smith is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or work, arising from use of the site, including decisions made from a restart packet or a change entry. Because the service is free, total liability for any claim is limited to USD $100 or, if greater, the minimum amount allowed by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the effective date above changes when they do. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
